Over 100 groups in Minnesota and Iowa receive funds

18 November 2020

BURNSVILLE, MN. (November 18, 2020) — In an effort to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities, AAA awarded $70,000 in grants to more than 100 agencies, schools, law enforcement agencies and charitable organizations across Minnesota and Iowa this November. These grants will support local traffic safety initiatives focused on teen drivers, senior drivers, distracted driving, substance-impaired driving, and pedestrian safety, among others.

As the nation’s foremost proponent of traffic safety, AAA has long been committed to reducing the number of crashes, injuries, and fatalities on American roadways. “The grants program is a wonderful resource for groups in Minnesota and Iowa,” said Meredith Terpstra, public affairs specialist, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “The money awarded equips communities and organizations with the financial backing to execute traffic safety, education, and awareness campaigns in communities that otherwise may not have been reached.”
