AAA Grand Opening on Grand Boulevard!
DETROIT, Mich., (June 11, 2019) — AAA hosted the Grand Opening Ceremony of the new Downtown Detroit/New Center Branch today. The 4,600-square foot facility is located at the corner of Woodward and E. Grand Blvd., in the heart of Detroit’s New Center area. The celebration was hosted by AAA-The Auto Club Group’s President and CEO Joe Richardson, Jr. Business and community leaders and AAA members were on hand for the celebration.
The Automobile Club of Detroit was started in 1916 in two donated rooms within the old Ponchartrain Hotel on Detroit’s Cadillac Square. AAA - The Auto Club Group, headquartered in Dearborn, has now grown to become the 2nd largest AAA club in North America, with over 9.8 million members across Michigan and 10 other states and two U.S. territories.
The new Downtown Detroit/New Center branch is a state of the art facility, with convenient parking and easy access to the Q-Line. The colorful full service branch houses 12 experienced employees providing membership, travel and insurance services.
The grand opening event featured special savings, refreshments, prize drawings and an appearance by the official mascot of the Detroit Tigers, PAWS. Also on hand were AAA partners Safe Lite, Hertz, Royal Caribbean, Sprint and Wheelhouse Detroit.
