AAA: Georgia Gas Price Average Is at a Standstill
ATLANTA, Ga., (April 3, 2023) — Georgia gas price average is at a standstill for the second week in a row. Georgia drivers continue to pay an average price of $3.22 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average is exactly the same as a week ago, 9 cents more than a month ago, and 66 cents less than this time last year. It now costs $48.30 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Drivers are now paying almost $10.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a year ago.
“Oil prices finally crested and have now settled above the $70 per barrel mark after weeks of hovering just below it,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “Nationally, gas demand is very robust. These two factors have caused drivers to see prices increase in certain states for now.”
Like the Temperatures, Gas Prices Start to Rise
Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has increased by 7 cents to $3.50 (subject to change overnight). According to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand increased from 8.96 million to 9.15 million barrels a day last week. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks decreased substantially by 2.9 million barrels to 226.7 million barrels. Increased demand amid tighter supply has contributed to pushing pump prices higher. If demand continues to rise, pump prices will likely follow suit.
Regional Prices:
Atlanta: $3.21
The most expensive Georgia metro markets – are Savannah ($3.32), Hinesville-Fort Stewart ($3.29), and Valdosta ($3.26).
The least expensive Georgia metro markets – are Dalton ($3.15), Rome ($3.14), and Gainesville ($3.13).
