The Michigan state average is still down 44 cents compared to last year
DEARBORN, Mich., (October 26, 2020) - Gas prices in Michigan are up 4 cents compared to last week. Michigan drivers are now paying an average price of $2.10 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 7 cents less than this time last month and 44 cents less than this time last year.
Motorists are paying an average of $32 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; a discount of $12 from when prices were their highest last July.
In the new weekly report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand decreased from 8.58 million b/d to 8.29 million b/d. Low demand, even as total domestic stocks increased by 1.9 million bbl to 227 million bbl last week, has helped the national average decrease slightly.
"Despite the slight uptick in Michigan gas prices, if demand continues to decline motorists will likely see lower pump prices," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA - The Auto Club Group.
Compared to last week, Metro Detroit’s average daily gas price decreased. Metro Detroit’s current average is $2.09 per gallon, 2 cents less than last week’s average and 48 cents less than this time last year.
