Eppley Airfield is hosting a temporary TSA Precheck event Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24. AAA Travel says those approved for TSA Precheck enjoy expedited security screening at more than 200 airports within the U.S., and save time and stress when traveling by air. The temporary application center will be located in the Eppley Conference Center on the upper level of the airport terminal. The hours of operation are 8:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. On Friday, May 24, the center will be open from 7 am to 11:00 am and noon to 4:00 pm.
Travelers can pre-enroll online at www.TSA.gov/precheck and make an appointment at the airport center to complete the application process. Walk-ins also are accepted on a space-available basis. Travelers enrolled in the TSA Precheck program are permitted to keep their shoes, belt, and light outerwear jacket on, and can leave their laptop and liquid 3-1-1 bag inside their carry-on when processing through an airport security checkpoint. The application fee is $85, which covers a five-year membership period. The fee must be paid at the application center by credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
AAA says enrollees will need to bring documentation proving identity and citizenship or legal residency status. Fingerprints are collected to complete a background check. Successful applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) which they can access online in about a week and then use when booking future flights.
