Motorists can call (855)2-TOW-2-GO for a safe, confidential ride

03 July 2019

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 3, 2019) — While Independence Day celebrations are traditionally known for outdoor events, fireworks and family get-togethers, the iconic U.S. holiday has become notorious for crashes and fatalities on the road. As a record breaking 41.4 million Americans hit the road for Independence Day, AAA is reminding motorists to celebrate safely and take steps ahead of time to avoid getting behind the wheel impaired.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a total of 237 lives were lost over the 2017 Independence Day holiday period due to drunk-driving related crashes, making it one of the deadliest holidays on our nation’s roads.

“Under no circumstance is it ever okay to drink and drive,” said Stephanie Milani, TN Public Affairs Director, AAA - The Auto Club Group. “If you’re going to be out drinking or hosting a party where alcohol will be available, please plan ahead so everyone gets home safely.”

The Tow to Go program is available Wednesday, July 3 through 6 a.m. on Friday, July 5 in the following areas:
