The 2008 fall color show is coming to a close, says AAA Michigan, with peak viewing conditions reported in the Southwest and Southeast Lower Peninsula. Good fall color conditions are reported in Grand Rapids, Holly, Jackson, Milford, Shelby Township and Tipton, with color development at 100 percent.

Excellent viewing conditions are reported in Ann Arbor, Hastings, Holland and St. Joseph, with some areas past peak. In many locations, rain and wind have reduced the number of leaves still hanging.

Fall color watchers looking for the best viewing opportunities can call Travel Michigan at (888) 78-GREAT (784-7328) for color updates provided by AAA Michigan each Wednesday through October. Updates also will be posted at AAA.com (enter ZIP code, click ABOUT AAA tab), or visit www.michigan.org
