Americans Steer Away from Autonomous Parking

AURORA, ILL. (September 22, 2015) – As automakers increasingly integrate self-parking features into new vehicles, Americans say they are not ready to give up control. According to a new survey from AAA, nearly 80 percent of American drivers are confident in their parallel parking abilities and only one-in-four would trust this technology to park their vehicle. Despite this, AAA testing found self-parking technology outperformed unassisted drivers in four key areas.

With Halloween approaching, neighborhoods will be filled with small trick-or-treaters that can be easily missed when drivers turn their heads to look behind the vehicle. AAA tested the rear view camera systems in 17 vehicles to measure the reduction in blind-zone areas.

AAA: Extreme Winter Weather Calls for Driver Preparation

Snow, extreme cold and blizzard-like weather can create extremely dangerous driving conditions for motorists on most highways statewide.  AAA Chicago advises motorists to prepare themselves and their car.  Motorists are advised to monitor weather conditions and follow advice from authorities.  If it is not safe to travel and you don’t have to travel, don’t drive.

AAA Chicago: Pink Tow Trucks will Service Chicagoland Motorists in October

Stranded motorists shouldn’t be surprised if they see a pink tow truck coming to their aid. For the first time in AAA’s more than 100-year history, it is painting its classic red, white and blue tow trucks the color pink in order to raise awareness of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in collaboration with the American Cancer Society.
