Gas prices in Michigan are down after jumping 14 cents to $2.76 per gallon on June 19.

As experts predict Michigan’s legal marijuana market sales to outpace Colorado’swhen its first recreational dispensaries open early next year, a new report from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety reveals some alarming statistics on drivers’ perceptions of the dangers of driving high.

Gas prices in Michigan dropped 12 cents compared to a week ago. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.63 per gallon for regular unleaded. 

When it comes to filling-up at the pump, Americans are changing their perception of what they consider “too expensive.” 

The 4,600-square foot facility is located at the corner of Woodward and E. Grand Blvd., in the heart of Detroit’s New Center area.

Gas prices in Michigan slipped 15 cents compared to a week ago. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.75 per gallon for regular unleaded. 

Over the past five years, nearly 3,500 people have been killed in crashes involving teen drivers during the 100 Deadliest Days, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day, when the number of crash fatalities involving a teen driver historically rise.

Max Klein, a St. Augustine Catholic School sixth-grader, was presented with the 2019 AAA School Safety Patroller of the Year Award. 

Memorial Day signals the beginning of the summer travel season. It also signals a higher risk time for unsafe driving, motor vehicle crashes and fatalities. In a unified effort to help prevent traffic deaths and injuries, AAA Michigan, the Detroit Tigers, Michigan State Police and local law enforcement agencies have teamed up to promote a safer summer.

New research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety finds that increased fatigue and poor physical functioning are leading factors that can result in older adults limiting their driving.
