Gas prices in Michigan have declined the past four consecutive days, after setting a new 2019-high of $2.48 per gallon, last week.

After declining 4 cents early last week, gas prices in Michigan jumped 12 cents in the middle of the week. Now it appears additional price-hikes could soon be on the way. 

Gas prices in Michigan are declining, after bouncing an average of 18 cents during the past week. The state average set a new 2019-high of $2.33 per gallon on Thursday, after wholesale gasoline prices surged 17 cents. 

Prices at the pump are off to their lowest start to the month of January since 2016. Gas prices in Michigan are slipping lower again, after rising 8 cents last week. 

AAA Michigan projects nearly 3.6 million residents will head for vehicles, planes and rails this holiday season; four percent more than last year, and the most since AAA has been tracking holiday travel. Those heading out will be among the 112.million Americans traveling more than 50 miles from home, also up four percent.

AAA and First Responder organizations teamed up to highlight the importance of Michigan’s Emergency Vehicle Caution Law – commonly referred to as the Move Over law -- at an event Tuesday morning at the AAA-Auto Club Group Administrative Office Building in Dearborn.

The majority of people killed in teen driver crashes continue to be people other than teen drivers themselves, according to an updated analysis of 10 years of crash data by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
