So far this year, 91 people have died in highway crashes on Nebraska roadways.  Although there are 7% fewer fatalities compared to the average for the previous five years (98 fatalities), more must be done to prevent roadway tragedies.  Many crashes can be prevented.  AAA is urging motorists to adhere to posted speed limits, avoid distractions while driving, and never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Always use your safety belt system as it is highly effective in preventing serious injuries during a crash.  For more information on Nebraska roadway fatalities visit https://dot.nebraska.gov/media/3340/tollcompare.pdf
