North Dakota motorist saved a little on gas in October.

The statewide average price for a gallon of regular gas fell three cents during the month, from $2.58 on Oct. 1 to $2.55 today. Savings were greater when compared to a year ago, when the statewide average stood at $2.80.

AAA says that while seasonal refinery maintenance continues across the country, utilization rates have increased in the last week. This could mean further declines to gas averages in the weeks ahead if demand drops along with temperatures.
