One of only two students selected from across Michigan
DEARBORN, Mich., (September 24, 2020) — Tecumseh High School graduate Noah Manuszak will start his first year of college with a $2,500 scholarship earned in the 26th annual AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol Scholarship Program. The program rewards graduating Michigan seniors who formerly served as AAA School Safety Patrol members in elementary school. To be considered for the AAA Michigan Safety Patrol scholarship, students must have:
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher
- ACT score of 21 or higher or SAT score of 950 or higher
- Letters of reference from school and non-school sources
- Proof of AAA School Safety Patrol participation
Manuszak’s AAA School Safety Patrol experience at Patterson Elementary School was where he first discovered leadership. “My favorite roles were helping to walk Kindergarteners to the buses and being a crosswalk assistant,” he wrote in his application. “Not only has it taught me about safety, but the AAA School Safety Patrol showed me early traits of how to be a good citizen, volunteer and leader.” Noah was in the top 5 percent of his graduating class at Tecumseh High School, where he also served as Captain of the Cross Country team and Treasurer of the Orchestra. One of his biggest accomplishments has been operating his own produce business since eighth grade!
“Noah has demonstrated the leadership qualities and commitment to community service that the AAA School Safety Patrol embodies and, for those reasons, is well deserving of this scholarship,” stated Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. Manuszak is currently attending University of Michigan with a major in Earth and Environmental Science.
AAA will coordinate media interview opportunities upon request.
