The 1913 Room Retains AAA Five Diamond Status

For seven years in a row, The 1913 Room at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids has achieved AAA Five Diamond status.

AAA Five Diamond Award winners comprise just 0.28 percent of the 58,000 Diamond Rated lodgings and restaurants in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

“Five Diamond lodgings and hotels represent the best the hospitality industry has to offer,“ said Marti DeVries, AAA Michigan vice president of Branch Operations. “These properties are extraordinary in every manner. We congratulate The 1913 Room. We will present them with the award at a spring luncheon.”

AAA’s Diamond Rating System is the only ratings system that covers all of North America and one of only two that conducts physical, on-site evaluations. It is the only system that uses full-time, professionally trained evaluators to inspect each property on an annual basis using a set of guidelines that are made available to all establishments.

AAA evaluates more properties than any other rating entity.
